Windows 10 build 18204 release as the first 19H1 preview

The first preview for the next version of Windows 10 coming in the first half of 2019 arrives.

Microsoft is making available Windows 10 build 18204 for PCs using the Skip Ahead option of the Windows Insider Program. This is the first preview that the company is making available as part of the 19H1 development arriving in the first half of 2019.

According to the software maker this first preview includes the same changes and features found in Windows 10 build 17723, including new Windows Update improvements to prevent reboots while your device is in use, a new version of Emoji, changes on Microsoft Edge, new time protocol to display time more accurately, and much more. However, in the coming weeks, Microsoft is expected to start rolling out new builds with different improvements and new features specific for the 19H1 development.

If you want to get an early start with the next version of Windows 10, you need to change your device settings to enroll in the Skip Ahead lane as soon as possible as it’s an option available for a limited time for a limited number of participants.
