Sets is a new feature coming to Windows 10 that lets you organize apps, documents, and web pages into tabs, similar to how tabs work on a web browser.

The idea is basically to use Sets to make sure that all your activities for a particular research be connected together in a single experience which you can resume with one-click.

Microsoft is currently testing this feature starting with Windows 10 build 17063, but only a select group of participants of the Windows Insider Preview program are getting it.

How to check if Sets is enabled on Windows 10

If you want to find out if the Sets is enabled in your Windows 10 installation, you can use the following steps:

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Click on System.

  3. Click on Multitasking.

If you don’t see the “Sets” section, then you have the tabs for apps featured in your installation.

  5. Click Apply.

  6. Click OK.

After completing the steps, restart your computer to apply the settings and enable Sets. If you still can’t use apps on tabs, then Sets isn’t available on your installation.

Sets comes enabled by default on build 17063, this means that alternatively, you should be able to simply open the Settings app, and if you see a “+” button just like you see in Microsoft Edge, then the new tab experience is enabled on your device. Also, you can also open Microsoft Store apps like Mail & Calendar, and if you see the plus button, then you have Sets enabled.

This feature is still in the very early days, and it’s something that may not arrive until the end of 2018, which is when the Redstone 5 update may release. Also, Sets is just a temporary name, Microsoft plans to call it something different when it’s ready.
