How to download the Windows 10 version 1803 ISO file after version 1809 releases

It's possible to download the Windows 10 April 2018 Update ISO file if you must downgrade from October 2018 Update, and in this guide, you'll learn how.

If you need to perform a clean installation of Windows 10, rollback to a previous version because you’re not ready for version 1809 (October 2018 Update), or your device is having problems with the new version, it’s still possible to download the ISO file for Windows 10 version 1803 to rollback.

Typically, when a new version of Windows 10 launches, Microsoft also updates the Media Creation Tool and Update Assistant to upgrade devices to the latest release. This means that if you install the October 2018 Update, you won’t be able to use these tools to downgrade if you’re having issues or you just don’t like the update. (Of course, you can use the recovery feature to rollback, but the option is only available for ten days, and many times it doesn’t work.)

However, there’s a workaround to download the Windows 10 ISO file for version 1803 even after version 1809 has been released, which you can use to create a USB bootable media to upgrade or perform a clean installation with the April 2018 Update.

In this guide, you’ll learn the steps to download the Windows 10 version 1803 ISO file directly from the Microsoft servers without having to use the Media Creation Tool or untrusted sources.

Important: Using this method, you can only download the last two feature updates. This guide was published before version 1903, so it was possible to download version 1809 and version 1803. Now that the May 2019 Update is available, you can download version 1903 and version 1809. When the 19H2 releases, then you’ll only be able to download version 1909 and version 1903, and so on and so forth. However, you can use this guide to download ISO files for older versions of Windows 10.
