On Windows 10, starting with the October 2018 Update, Microsoft is introducing SwiftKey intelligence, which is a technology that learns your typing style to provide more accurate autocorrections and predictions.

This writing technology has been available on iOS and Android for quite some time, but it’s now available on Windows 10 when using the touch keyboard.

In this guide, you’ll learn the steps to enable or disable SwiftKey for each language installed on your device to improve accuracy while typing on Windows 10 version 1809.

How to enable SwiftKey suggestions and autocorrections features

If you want to enhance the accuracy of text suggestions and autocorrection as you type on Windows 10, you can enable or disable SwiftKey using the following steps.

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Click on Devices.

  3. Click on Typing.

  4. Under “More keyboard settings,” click the Suggestions and autocorrections link.

Once you’ve completed the steps, Windows 10 will provide suggestions and autocorrections depending on the settings you have selected.

At the time of writing, SwiftKey is available when writing in English (United States), English (United Kingdom), French (France), German (Germany), Italian (Italy), Spanish (Spain), Portuguese (Brazil), or Russian.

If you don’t see these settings, it’s probably because you’re not running the latest version of Windows 10. SwiftKey is a technology available starting with version 1809 (October 2018 Update) expected to arrive in October 2018.
