Windows 10 builds 19045.6691 and 19044.6691 (KB5071546) are now rolling out as part of the December 2025 Security Update through the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program for versions 22H2 and 21H2. This is a small update that introduces changes for PowerShell 5.1.
According to the change logs, the update KB5071546 updates the Invoke-WebRequest command in PowerShell 5.1 to include a confirmation prompt with a security warning of a script execution risk.
In addition, this release comes with fixes rolled out with the November 2025 Security Update and the Out-of-band update, also released in November.
Microsoft does not reveal the final names of updates intended for the Stable Channel during early development. While in preview, these are labeled as non-security updates. The official name, such as the November 2025 Security Update, is assigned only after the update is released on Patch Tuesday.
Older versions of Windows 10
Furthermore, Microsoft is releasing updates available for older operating system versions, including 1809 and 1607. For example, the company is rolling out update KB5071544 for version 1809, bumping the build number to 17763.8146 and including fixes.
Finally, Windows 10 1607 receives the update KB5071543, which bumps the version to build 14393.8688, and addresses some problems with the operating system.

Windows 10 end of support
Support for Windows 10 ended on November 14, 2025, meaning the company is no longer providing security updates, bug fixes, features, or technical support. To continue receiving critical security updates (only), you must enroll your computer in the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program.
Also, remember that this lack of updates will leave your system vulnerable to security threats and may decrease its performance.
Furthermore, since the software giant no longer provides updates, you should upgrade to Windows 11 or another operating system, such as Linux Mint, or plan to purchase a new device.
