- Windows 10 22H2 is getting build 19045.7807 (KB5126657) as the ninth update through the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program.
- This cumulative update arrives with new critical security fixes and continues the Secure Boot certification update for more devices.
- This release includes no new major features because operating system support ended on October 14, 2025.
Windows 10 builds 19045.7807 and 19044.7807 (KB5126657) are now rolling out as part of the October 2026 Security Update through the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program for versions 22H2 and 21H2.
The update adds permanent Daylight Saving Time support for British Columbia and Alberta starting in November 2026 and introduces the Manitoba Standard Time time zone.
The update also adds auditing and optional policy controls for ReFS volumes on externally attached storage devices, with auditing enabled by default and enforcement controls disabled by default.
It fixes an issue that could leave some Storage Spaces Direct virtual disks offline after an update and addresses a File History problem that could prevent backups or file restoration to external drives or network locations by incorrectly displaying a “Reconnect your drive” message.
Microsoft also continues rolling out updated Secure Boot certificates to eligible devices through Windows Update.
The company is still looking into a known USB audio issue affecting some USB Audio Class 1.0 devices after the September 8, 2026, security update. Symptoms include Code 10 errors, no audio output, and unresponsive volume controls. The September 14 out-of-band update partially addresses the problem for devices using 8-channel or 3D audio modes, but other symptoms remain unresolved.
These are the fixes and improvements rolling out this October for Windows 10:
- Time and Date: Adds permanent Daylight Saving Time support for British Columbia and Alberta starting in November 2026 and introduces the Manitoba Standard Time time zone (UTC-5:00).
- ReFS security: Adds auditing and optional policy controls for ReFS volumes on externally attached storage devices. Auditing is enabled by default, while enforcement controls remain disabled by default.
- Storage Spaces: Fixes an issue that could leave some Storage Spaces Direct virtual disks offline after installing a Windows update because valid tiered storage metadata was incorrectly identified as invalid during recovery.
- File History: Fixes an issue that could prevent File History from backing up or restoring files to external drives or network locations, incorrectly displaying a “Reconnect your drive” message even when a compatible drive was connected and working properly.
Older versions of Windows 10
Microsoft is also releasing updates for older operating system versions, including 1809 and 1607. For example, the company is rolling out update KB5126651 for version 1809, which bumps the build number to 17763.9376. This update adds new time zones and enhanced NTLM auditing, fixes BitLocker To Go compatibility issues, adds ReFS security controls, and strengthens AD FS security by automatically correcting insecure DKM container permissions.
Finally, Windows 10 1607 receives update KB5126868, which bumps the build to 14393.9612, and introduces new time zones, adds auditing and optional security controls for ReFS volumes on external storage devices, and strengthens AD FS security by automatically correcting insecure Distributed Key Manager container permissions.

Windows 10 end of support
Windows 10 support ended on October 14, 2025, meaning the company no longer provides security updates, bug fixes, features, or technical support. To continue receiving critical security updates (only), you must enroll your computer in the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program.
Also, remember that this lack of updates leaves your system vulnerable to security threats and may reduce performance.
Since the software giant no longer provides updates, you should upgrade to Windows 11 or another operating system, such as Linux Mint, or plan to buy a new device.
According to the company, all versions of Windows 10 have already reached the end of support, including:
- Version 1507 (RTM)
- Windows 10 2015 LTSB
- Version 1511
- Version 1607
- Version 1703
- Version 1709
- Version 1803
- Version 1809
- Version 1903
- Version 1909
- Version 2004
- Version 20H2
- Version 21H1
- Version 22H2
If you want to continue using Windows 10, Microsoft now offers Extended Security Updates (ESU). This service was originally reserved for organizations that need to run older operating systems beyond the official support period, but it is now also available to regular consumers.
