Microsoft is now rolling out Windows 10 build 16299.15 as a quality update for PCs enrolled in the Fast ring in the Windows Insider Program hinting that the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is now finalized (or RTM). Though, you still need to go through the long install process.
The company is not sharing any details on the changes included with the Windows 10 Insider Preview build 16299.15, but it notes that it’s testing servicing with the newly released update before the final release.
The Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is expected to be available worldwide starting October 17, 2017, which is not surprising that Microsoft is now in the stages to completely finalize the update.
While the company is now pushing build 16299.15 to the Fast ring, the same major build has been made available in the Slow ring, which means that soon we’ll be seeing the update available in the Release Preview ring before being fully available on October 17.
Although it’s recommended to wait until the update is offered to you automatically, if you’ve been waiting to jump to the new version as soon as it’s stable, now may just be the right time.
