As promised, Microsoft is releasing a new preview of Windows 10 for phones (build 10051), however this build is being release to the Fast ring of updates, which means it’s a very buggy and a lot things won’t work as expected.
The good news is that Microsoft is opening the door to support a wider range of Windows phones, including:

What’s not supported
Unfortunately, this build has some scaling issues with the Lumia 930 and Lumia 640XL, which makes the user-interface very small and unusable as such, these two devices won’t be supported in build 10051.
What’s new
In the latest build the company is introducing a number of new apps like a new mail and calendar, Phone and Messaging, People, Maps, and Updated App Switcher apps. Furthermore, build 10051 also includes a preview build of Project Spartan web browser that uses the new rendering engine found in the desktop version of the browser.
The new release of Windows 10 for phones also includes a number of fixes, including an updated keyboard layout. Now the keyboard layout includes a period, comma and emoji keys on the first page of the keyboard. Language switching is enabled by pressing and holding the &123 key, and there is an option to replace the emoji key with the language switching key.
Cortana has a new icon that now scales when changing the tile size. Photos has been updated fixing an issue that will fail to launch the app when attempting to add a photo attachment to an email, OneNote or Facebook. The app also pick up the phone’s theme color before it launches and start showing pictures from your collection including OneDrive in the Live Tile. Also, now the Microsoft Band now syncs with the phone after upgrading to Windows 10.
Instructions
Windows 10 for phones build 10051 is now available for download — Microsoft is having some issues rolling out the new bits and it’s causing a server error, but the company is aware of the issue and it should be resolved shortly –, and if you’re planning to install the latest build, here are the steps you need to follow:
1. Go to the Windows Phone Store and download the Windows Insider app.
2. Make sure you are registered as a Windows Insider.
3. Launch the Windows Insider app for phones, tap on “Get preview builds”.
4. Then choose “Insider Fast” option, as Microsoft is releasing the new bit through this channel.
5. Now exit the Windows Insider app, go to Settings / Update & recovery / phone update, and tap “check for update”.
